Spectroscopic and kinematic
analysis of galactic planetary nebulae – type astronomical objects. The study
spans about thirty selected planetary nebulae and deals with geometry,
spacio-kinematic modeling, distance calculations and general astrophysical
properties. The work is carried out at the United States Naval Observatory in
Washington.
Development of the multi-channel Fourier Transform Spectrometer for the United
States Naval Observatory. The eventual goal of the project is to be able to
resolve the spectre of companion-bearing
stars to » 1 m/s and thus to
detect earth-sized planets.
